Kyle Fredrickson

Kyle Fredrickson graduated with a BS in Mathematics and Computer Science from Westmont College in 2018. After a year in industry, he started his PhD at UCSC working on problems in fair machine learning with Dr. Lise Getoor. Seeing that cryptography and security were more in line with his interests, he began working with Dr. Darrell Long on problems related to cryptography. His research interests are in improved methods for factoring large numbers (the hard problem at the root of the RSA cryptosystem), as well as secure networking and, more generally, privacy preserving technologies.
